Our Mission

Our mission is to unite, develop and apply brain imaging techniques operating at different spatial and temporal scales to advance our understanding of the human brain, ultimately to provide advances in clinical neuroscience and improved treatments for brain-related conditions such as epilepsy.

Exploring EEG

Electroencephalography (EEG) allows us to directly  measure the brain's electrical activity with temporal precision. Our EEG projects focus on developing multimodal EEG applications and using them in various states of consciousness, cognitive tasks, and neurological disorders.

Understanding MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) provides detailed images of the brain's structure and function. Our MRI initiatives are dedicated to mapping brain anatomy, studying structural abnormalities at sub-millimeter scales with ultra-high field MRI. This research is crucial for improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment e.g. for epilepsy surgery planning.

Our Modalities

Explore the wide range of projects using advanced brain imaging technologies performed by the multimodal brain imaging group. Dive into the world of EEG, MRI, MRS, and more with MBIG.

Research

Our team at Multi-modal Brain Imaging Group (MBIG) consists of dedicated researchers and tech enthusiasts. Led by our head researcher, David Carmichael, we are a group of innovative individuals passionate about exploring the endless possibilities of technology.
